Endings
This week’s photo assignment was ‘endings’; appropriate as we are approaching the end of this calendar year. Usually I think about the assignment for most of the week, trying to come up with something that reflects my life and ideas but not expected.
Two days ago, we were hunting through the refrigerator freezer for something to add to our evening meal when I spied the left-over ham-bone from an earlier Sunday dinner. In our early married years, we did not throw away much—if anything. I made a lot of bean soup with leftover wilted vegetables, onion, beans of course, and then the ham-bone. Ham in those days was 19 cents a pound and we could get many meals out of that purchase.
While we are no longer penniless, we still enjoy the idea of using bits and pieces.
And so today’s photo—Endings–in an Instant Pot—not just a pot on top of the wood burning stove.
