Broken Wing

Pretending to have a broken wing to lead predators away from the nest was something I always assumed was the role of the mother bird—but it seems that the father bird can also perform this feat.

However, when grubs and flies and assorted other tasty insect treats are about, both parents eat—but then their nest may have not been very close.
