Stories of Migration

I’ve worked on these two pieces for the better part of a year–although I had grand plans for two different ones as well–maybe in the future.

The first one is an improvisational piece—and thanks to my sweet hubby who resized it appropriately for me–I have Photoshop elements –it was in my budgetary price.

Through the centuries, customs, traditions, stories, and habits have been passed from one generation to another--sometimes as an object but sometimes as a life style.

and here is the second piece

Through the centuries life has persisted; ideas and inventions and peoples have traveled--sometimes north, sometimes south, sometimes east or west--but always seeking a better place, more food, better shelter, or opportunities. After a time, life becomes routine and linear. This represents the travels through time of those peoples.

I allowed myself the luxury of two photo stands and a black muslin backdrop which allows me to make larger pieces and not have to stress about trying to erase the line between design boards or pinning the piece to them or trying to find a place outside to hang them from a clothesline and hope that there is no wind—usually even on the most wind=less days, a gust of wind appears ant the bottoms flutter. So Now I have a photo studio set up with a very nice tripod and two stands at the ready.
