Stripping with Fran
Friday and Saturday were two back to back workshops with Fran Snay from Burleson Tx. The Storm at sea pattern is a bit daunting as it has several pieces and looks curved but isn’t. We used pattern tissue as the paper piecing backing–which is much easier to use than copy paper. and then we did the Drunkard’s path from strip pieced fabric–although as you can see in the blue example above–I used solid fabrics but one was a stripe.
Fran is a generous lady–and her kits were complete and included a paper copy of the templates in case we cut too close on our Mylar templates.
I used a basket of coordinated fabrics that I have used as workshop samples. I am getting close to having enough to make a nice sized quilt top.
