Day Four Nancy Crow Workshop
Wish I could say this is the way I felt at the end of the day.
Today I began our second assignment, I decided to make something rather simple and all linear so as to not make construction a thing I had to think about.
I’m pleased about the progress so far.
Tomorrow I need to complete the third part of the assignment–and think about my presentation.
It’s been a long week, so intense, a lot of thinking about design and color and construction. I’ve made an effort over the past year or so to be very precise and neat in my work with perfect 1/4 inch seams, no hanging threads, precise corners, presentation, weights if necessary on the bottom to limit the amount of wobble.
Craft versus art–art needs good craftsmanship behind it to stand up–not just because of quilt police but because then the attention is on the art–not the manufacture.
