Line Dancing and Gyros

I am convinced that the origin of line dancing came from the Greeks. St. Michael’s, a small Greek orthodox church in Beaumont hosts the annual Greek Festival which has grown each year. This year, a street was blocked off and a large stage put up where we heard traditional musicians play plus several Greek dancing troupes. There was plenty of food, the weather was absolutely perfect–a bit overcast, some breeze, and comfortable temperatures. We tried the hummus, spannokopita, and fresh doughnuts==best eaten that day as they would have been like small balls of leaden oil the next day.

More photos and maybe a small movie or two at my smugmug site at http://sylviaweirphotos.smugmug.com/Texas/Greek-festival-2015/
