Zooming while shuttering or shuttered zooming
This week’s assignment was to focus, then move the focus ring AND rotate the camera while using a long shutter time. This meant COORDINATION–the kind of rub your tummy pat your head type.
I took several photos and looked at my fellow students’ work as well. I’m not sure I like this technique but using a long shutter time was fun. I do like evening shots with long shutter speeds in which lights stream past –or steam or fog rolls out.

I don’t think I will be using this technique a lot–but I think learning a new technique is always a good thing–even if to decide it is not in your taste.
