Another Quilt for Boys Haven
Making Quilts for Boys Haven, a local institution for at risk boys is one of the fun things I do. This quilt is one quarter of the strips my very dear friend cut for a Jelly Roll race hosted at a recent guild workshop. We were going to work on the project together but I pointed out that it would work as the first step is to sew all the strips into one very long one. So we divided the strips into two. I had enough strips to make TWO quilts; this is the first one that I’ve completed; the second one is waiting to be quilted.
And I did sleep under it—an old German tradition–to bring good luck to the recipient particularly if a wedding quilt, the quilt must be slept under by its maker.
