Brothers and a Yarn Bowl

As the only girl in a large family, I felt overwhelmed and frustrated by the preponderance of ‘male-ness’–then again with three sons. But earlier this week, one of my brothers sent me this—isn’t it gorgeous? It is many rings of wood cut with a scroll saw with a cut out for yarn and two places for knitting needles. It is almost too pretty to use–but I’ve decided to use my pretty things and this is one of them.

Thank you dear brother.

That is a piece of silk I dyed and made into strips ready to knit into a lightweight scarf—the only kind people in this part of Texas wear.
