Art Deco Buildings

Beaumont Texas has some of the finest Art Deco buildings including the Federal post Office, the Courthouse, and the Kyle Building. I had never wandered around downtown but after looking over the estate sale of Hotel Beaumont, I happened to park across the street from the McFadden building. Here are a few shots of some of the imagery. The building was closed and so I was unable to go inside to see what might be there. I’m apprehensive about taking photos of the post office and courthouse–it might not be taken in the right way.

And from a previous post, the Hotel Beaumont.

  1. such beautiful lines… and lovely photos. Sad to see change but so wonderful that you can honor these human made places…. and of course all these things inform our work!

(and you certainly have been productive lately!)

    • Of course, I always think I should be three or four times as productive–but I find that I am working on smaller things. It’s easier for me to handle, certainly easier to photograph and it is more challenging to work in a small space and accomplish as much as a large one.
