African Batik Curtains
Some years ago I bought six Batik panels from Africa at the Houston Quilt Festival. I also obtained a bolt of African batik fabric with large lovely swirls done in purple and lime green. I puzzled a long time over what to do with these. They smelled of wax–to my mind and senses quite pleasant. And so, after some thought I decided to replace the cafe curtains and French door curtains done in an Oriental motif with these panels.
Now for those of you who might feel this is a bit indecent—these are for a second story bedroom separated from neighbor one story house by a yard full of 100 year old crepe myrtles.
