Rosemary

Rosemary here is a hardy shrub that is used for hedges. However, it has not survived the past several winters. I had planted a tiny sprig several years ago which grew nicely and at its peak was about two feet high with a spread of about the same. Unfortunately, a little bit of it goes a long way and it was hard to keep up with pruning it for table use. This spring I decided I needed to cut the entire plant out and harvest what I could. I ended up with a Walmart bag full–it is so fragrant. That particular garden bed needed to be replaced–the boards are rotting and the St. Augustine grass encroaching. Battling the grass is a never ending battle.
