Believe
I was honored to be included in a group of twenty or so artists to interpret various themes in small quiltlets. This last one is Twenty words that make a difference. The word I was given was Believe. These small pieces are more time-consuming than on first appearance; I start with a pieced background and add imagery on top, then quilt minimally. I use a pillow turn backing technique as that seems to fit this size artistically better than a traditional binding. The first two or three groupings are scheduled to be shown at a Mancuso show but I don’t have any more details at present. I still have to get mine to the post office this week–a slight challenge as my truck threw its serpentine belt into shreds–most exciting–so exciting I wanted to spend the evening folding laundry.
