Coverings
My middle son uses Marble notebooks as his working journal for designs of such things as a gear-changing unicycle–unfortunately the world did not beat down his door on this project. However, I decided I would use these little notebooks being the right size to slip into my backpack and then a slightly larger sketchbook. The Marble notebooks were incredibly inexpensive–especially during school sales. Then there were the sketchbooks; I experimented with a lot of different brands and sizes; some came with paper covers that quickly became dog-eared and messy. And so I began the habit of making a cover for my notebooks and my sketchbooks. Some of the journal notebooks have a piece sewn directly onto the cover; others have a full slip on cover. I could just re-use the covers but I like to use up bits and pieces of left-overs from assorted projects or in the case of my current sketchbook; a project gone bad. I’ve re-worked it so it is not quite so objectionable.
