Missed Again
Several years ago someone gave us a cutting from a night-blooming cereus. It has flourished in our backyard under a canopy of crepe myrtles and has bloomed several times. The first time I saw the bud was the day we were leaving for an extended trip somewhere–, the next year I saw a withered bud on the ground, and so forth.
Although we were home this year during its bloom, unfortunately the rain every day and night kept us indoors with only occasional forays outside for necessities–the paper, groceries, mail–and of course, work for me.
Other news to date–life has been rather topsy turvey with a lot of unexpected demands on time, energy, and pocketbook. I hope that things are settling down at last–I’m ready for some regular unexciting life.
