Big Bend Day One

Big Bend Day One

Last minute preparations are just that–a flurry of what shall I take and what have we forgotten and what can we plan to buy when we get there–should we take a loaf of bread from home or buy it at Study Butte?

After we get on the road, we begin to listen to CS Lewis ‘Mere Christianity’ a challenge as the phone skips around and we listen to some chapter sections repeatedly and some skips ahead–but still most interesting.

We stop at a rest stop in Gonzales County, wand walk through a short nature trail with the trees all labeled. ‘Bella’ is a small dog on a leash leading her master through the same trail stopping at all the great smells.

Lunch is at Shobel’s in Columbus–a wonderful reuben for me.

more driving and a hotel in Junction.
